Our 7th Nationwide JHFA Gathering

was held on July 26th through July 28th of 2018 at Hiland School in Berlin, Ohio

Our 7th Gathering in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country in Berlin, Ohio was a resounding success! Holmes County is home to the world's largest Amish settlement. All eight hundred or so of us enjoyed the tranquil scenery, delicious Amish meals or three, and mingled with aforeto unknown relatives! At this big event, there were speakers, seminars, tours, displays, vendors, children’s activities and much more plus we rubbed elbows with descendants of Jacob's four children:

John, m. Catherine HERTZLER, d/o Amish Bishop Jacob & Catherine Hertzler

Barbara, m. Christian STUTZMAN, s/o the widow Magdalena Stutzman

Joseph, m. Anna BLANK, d/o Dr. Hans & Magdalen Blank

Christian, m. Barbara RUPP, known only as an orphan

Here are a couple of websites that helped us to explore the area:

http://www.berlinohio.com/, this one, and http://www.visitamishcountry.com/, along with a Google Map that will take you right to the address of 4400 State Route 39, in Belin, Ohio 44610.

It's located 1 hour and 31 minutes from Cleveland's Hopkins Airport, 1 hour and 51 minutes from Port Columbus International Airport, and 1 hour and 54 minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport. Akron-Canton Airport is less than an hour away and probably your best bet since it is served by four major airlines: Delta, United, American, Spirit and has ground transportation (car rentals and so on) that's generally cheaper than other major airports.
