Lumber Storage for John's Little House
We stored the lumber and timbers in the Stanton's mill across from the Penn Alps restaurant. This building is on the national registry of historic places. The stack in the left center foreground is tongue and groove flooring. The larger timbers to the right center foreground are beams carrying rafters. These were fairly heavy pieces we moved with dollies. You can make out the notches to receive rafters. Perpendicular and in the background is mainly siding. Remember, this wood is waterlogged and has been weather exposed for 2 yrs. We need to assess the lumber; pulling the rusty nails without denting the wood, brush clean, take exact measurements and count quantities
